Citing resources
Please cite the individual dataset, map, publication or image using the preferred citation shown on its resource page or permanent repository record. When no final citation is available, include the creator, title, year if known, version, the Soils of Namibia website address and your access date.
Licensing and reuse
Licences may differ between resources. Check the licence and rights statement attached to the specific item before copying, adapting or redistributing it. Public access does not by itself place a work in the public domain. Please contact the project where ownership or permitted reuse is unclear.
Scientific interpretation
Maps and modelled datasets describe soil conditions at stated scales, resolutions and levels of uncertainty. They should not be treated as a substitute for site-specific sampling, professional assessment or statutory information. Users remain responsible for checking whether a resource is appropriate for their intended analysis or decision.
Versions and corrections
Resources may be updated as metadata, source records and modelling outputs are refined. Cite the version used, retain a copy with your analysis and review the resource page for corrections or newer releases.
Privacy
The website does not currently use advertising, user accounts or visitor analytics. The contact form collects the information a visitor enters so the enquiry can be delivered and answered. Contact details are not displayed publicly through the form. Server providers may retain routine technical logs for security and operation.
External services
Some resources link to services such as Zenodo or Zotero. Those services have their own privacy, availability and reuse terms. A link from this portal does not transfer ownership of externally hosted material.
Questions or corrections
Researchers are encouraged to report broken files, missing metadata, citation corrections or other concerns through the contact form.
